Itinerary
01 Cusco - Lares Hot Springs - Wacahuasi
Cusco - Lares Hot Springs - Wacahuasi
Early departure from Cusco, driving through the Sacred Valley to the town of Lares. Visit the natural hot springs and enjoy a relaxing soak. Continue to Wacahuasi village (3,800m) where we meet local families and learn about traditional weaving. Camp overnight with views of snow-capped peaks.
02 Wacahuasi - Condor Pass - Patacancha
Wacahuasi - Condor Pass - Patacancha
Trek upward through highland scenery, passing herds of llamas and alpacas. Cross Condor Pass (4,450m) with panoramic mountain views. Descend to the Patacancha Valley, visiting weaving communities along the way. Camp at Patacancha village. Hiking: 6-7 hours.
03 Patacancha - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
Patacancha - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
Morning trek down through traditional villages to Ollantaytambo. Optional visit to the impressive fortress. Catch the afternoon train to Aguas Calientes. Celebrate with a group dinner and overnight in hotel.
04 Machu Picchu - Cusco
Machu Picchu - Cusco
Early bus to Machu Picchu for sunrise and comprehensive guided tour. Free time to explore the citadel. Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch before train and transfer back to Cusco (arrival ~8 PM).
